Why did we decide that wheels on chairs is a good thing?

And who is it actually good for?

Like why? At least for me I am at the same desk and keyboard all day. I don't need wheels on my office chair so why is it standard on every office chair? You ever seen wheels on a dinning chair? A couch? I haven't So why the flip do we love wheels on our office chairs?

Well apparently there was this dude named Darwin who liked to look at a bunch of different animal specimens so he put wheels on his chair so we could zip around between them all. He was well before the time that everything was streamed to us on a single(or few) screen in front of us. We have browser tabs now, so why still wheels?

Does it make us better workers? Probably. At least it did. Does it make us better humans? I am not convinced. Does it ruin our posture? Does it encourage us to move less? Does it confuse our cave man bodies that this rock we are sitting on is unstable and keeps moving? IDK, but I do wonder. I might take the wheels of of my chair tomorrow. What will you do or question?
